Inadequate Security Measures may be to Blame for Governor’s Mansion Fire

June 27th, 2008 · No Comments

News of the highly destructive June 8th Governor’s Mansion fire spread across the nation very quickly.  After an in-depth investigation into the incident, disturbing information has been released about the effectiveness of the security force on-duty that evening.

There was only one state trooper working that night.  This same trooper had just finished an 8-hour shift of the Texas History Museum.  Not only was the trooper overworked, but he was also undertrained.  According to his attorney, the troop decided to overstay his shift just so that someone could be there that night.

Things were not in his favor that night, as seven of the twenty total security cameras were broken.  None of the motion detectors were engaged due to the fact that they were disabled for repairs.  The investigation concluded that poor planning is blame for the catastrophe.
